Ecthyma gangrenosum

This picture shows a skin infection (ecthyma) that has eroded through the top layer of skin (epidermis). Ecthyma gangrenosum is a bacterial skin infection (caused byPseudomonas aeruginosa) that usually occurs in people with a compromised immune system.
