Hysterectomy

Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus. Reasons for this surgery may include, but are not restricted to, chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine fibroids, and uterine cancer. A hysterectomy may be performed through an abdominal or vaginal incision, or using a laparoscope.
